The Ruby Slippers Principles
by Loreen Muzik
Can you share a bit about your back story with us.
9 years ago, I was very successful in my corporate career, high level executive in human resources. I had done everything that I was supposed to do in life; had the career, the income, the house, the family but… I was miserable, thinking “Now what?!” I wanted to pursue my dream of inspiring others but, I was too scared and stuck in my safety zone to move forward. Then BOOM, out of nowhere my world came crashing down, I lost my job, couldn’t find another one and funds were quickly running out.
The Universe in its infinite wisdom saw fit to push me out of my comfort zone since I was NOT doing it on my own. Fortunately, this freefall is what led me to go on a deep soul-searching mission and a mission to pursue my dreams! That heroic journey led me to enormous challenges and great empowerment with every challenge met. I took a long and winding road through internet marketing, blogging, mlm businesses, coaching certifications, business mentors, online magazine publishing, and tarot reading before finally tapping into my natural gifts and bringing all of the things I LOVE together on one platform.
In trying to explain my adventure to a dear friend, and how her heroic journey would indeed be the source of her voice, inner power and ultimate fulfillment; The Ruby Slipper Principles evolved. It began in a brainstorming session with her, then when meditating I received the framework of Oz (a download from Source is what I call it) to further help clarify the HOW for her, and it has now evolved into written form in this book.
It took me a huge tornado of chaos, a trip to Oz through a dark scary forest of doubt and fear to finally find my way home.
How and when did you know that you wanted to write a book?
I started writing stories when I was about 9 years old; before that I made prolific entries in my diary. Expressing myself via the written word has always felt cathartic and creative to me so on some level I’ve wanted to write a book since I was a small child. Books always transported me to places I couldn’t otherwise go, and they inspired me in ways that were absent in my every day life. Fast forward to the more current version of me and when I lost my corporate job in 2009, I started to think very seriously about how I could write a book and share it with the world. In part because, I thought I had some relatable stories to share and advice to give. It would end up taking me nearly 9 years from that thought to bring my first book into being.
Tell us about your book.
The Ruby Slipper Principles is a captivating action adventure guide for the soul. A world where The Wonderful Wizard of Oz meets the law of attraction. Complete with roadmaps to discover your authentic truths, reveal your inner power, eliminate your doubts, and illuminate your path to life fulfilled. It has grounded, practical advice and direction; presented in a playful, re-imagined way.
What were the hardest things you faced whilst you were writing it?
My own self-doubts, lack of courage and question of my worth. EXACTLY what it is I wanted to help others with. It’s so easy to guide another to their greatness and so difficult to share our own gifts. It was the flying monkeys of doubt and fear that truly kept me from publishing.
The technical piece of editing and then formatting the book for sale on Amazon was also a bit of a learning curve.
What were the best things you experienced during the process?
Several things really, the whole process is so empowering and validating.
First, the catharsis of sharing my voice was enlightening and soul expanding. Every step of the way I learned more about myself and how I might be able to help others with what I was learning.
The next best thing has been holding the book in my hands, it feels so real, as if I’ve manifested a dream right into my reality! It’s very empowering to physically see the results of the years of work.
And… I think most enjoyable for me is that I am blown away by having folks contact me to quote the book and then share that they’ve had an ah-ha moment or an enlightening experience by reading the book.
What’s next for you?
Right now, I’m focused on launching the Yellow Brick Road Tours; guided journeys through all the ruby slipper principles. It will be offered as one on one VIP, group and DIY adventures to: trust your inner voice, uncover your true value, defeat those flying monkeys of doubt and start co-creating a life fulfilled.
I also teach tarot to help folks connect more deeply to their intuition and gain clarity in their lives and that course will become my next book. Yep, writing 1 book was that fantastic, I can’t wait to do it again!
Can you share your top 3 #booktips.
1) If you have a desire to write a book it is because there are people out there who have called upon the Universe to hear what you have to say. They’re already searching for you and your message is the answer to their issues. Trust that, the desire you feel is proof that you are worthy and capable of writing the book… all you need now is the courage to act upon the desire.
2) Your own heroic journeys of life hold the theme(s) and framework(s) for your book(s). Reflect upon the greatest challenges you’ve overcome, the themes that seem to recur in your life and how experiencing them has changed you and given you the moral of your story.
3) An inspiration partner is the BEST thing I did for myself while writing the book. I suggest either a mentor or someone who is really inquisitive and doesn’t mind interviewing you to flush out the concepts/themes/framework which will become the chapters of your book.
For me, talking it out with a willing audience to hold space for me, made a huge difference. A few power brainstorming sessions went a LONG way toward the end product. I was able to record our sessions and then go back and have them transcribed.
How can people connect with you online and find out more about your book?
Loreen Muzik, a former HR Executive, has been using her intuitive coaching skills to guide others to the source of their inner power for more than 25 years. In 2009 an Executive Witch stole her ruby slippers, kicked her out of corporate Oz and sent her reeling back to Kansas confused about whether or not she had a brain, heart or the courage to move on. Seeking a new yellow brick road, Loreen pursued certifications in life coaching, Tarot reading and the Akashic Records. Today, she incorporates her 3D, 4D and 5D modalities to help others see the power of their ruby slippers through the wonderful wisdom of Oz.
